Corn Vadas

This is an innovative snack that Mru;s mom had made. Instead of using the usual lentils, she used dry corn seeds from the market. I tried it over the weekend and it was fabulous. 


Ingredients
Dried corn seeds
Chilli powder
Turmeric
Asafoetida
Green chillies
Chopped mint and coriander
Finely chopped ginger
Salt
Oil for frying


Method
1. Soak the seeds with just enough water to cover the seeds. Soak them overnight.
2. Steam the corn seeds and pressure cook it to one whistle.
3. Grind the corn seeds with the rest of the ingredients. Hint: If the mixture is very coarse, loosen it with very little water. 
4. Take a spoonful of the mixture and pat them to make thick flat patties. 
5. Deep fry. Serve with mint chutney.
