Kichuri

Happy Birthday Rita. Thank you for the Kichuri recipe. It turned out very tasty.

Ingredients

Boiled peas and potatoes
Fried cauliflower florets and moong dal(1 cup)
Finely chopped onions
Chopped tomatoes
Red chillie (1)
Bay leaf (1)
Ginger-garlic paste
Turmeric
Chilli powder
Salt
Sugar (optional 1tsp)
Ghee (1tbsp)

Method
1. Boil the fried dal and basmati together. Set aside.
2. In a wok, heat oil.
3. Add a red chillie and bay leaf.
4. Fry the onions until they become transparent.
5. Add turmeric, chilli powder and the chopped tomatoes.
6. Saute until the oil separates from the ingredients.
7. Add the boiled potatoes and fry well with the masalas.
8. Add the boiled rice-moong dal.
9. Add salt.
10. Add enough water to cover the rice and simmer.
11. When the rice is almost done, add the boiled peas and fried florets.
12. Add sugar if you want. This is optional.
13. Before you remove from fire, add ghee.
14. Garnish coriander leaves and serve.

Hon, it ain't "Kochuri". It's "Khichuri." "Kochuri" means "Kachauri." "Khichuri" is the rice and dal mix item you are talking about here. "Kochuri" is the maida with mashed peas or dal item. Dish completely changes re :)

lol. Did you have to edit the post and rename the recipe khichuri? Did you mess it up with the kochuri recipe i gave you earlier? Hee hee :D
